Village Women Dream (VWD) is a social enterprise empowering a community of rural Cambodian women artisans to work on their own terms. We create multi-generational collections using traditional techniques, sustainable materials, and a modern aesthetic. Our mission is to connect global consumers to meaningful craftsmanship while driving long-term impact for our Cambodian community.
The Marketing & Sales Manager will lead the development and execution of VWD’s marketing strategy, with a strong focus on fashion brand positioning, storytelling, and visual identity. This role will also be central to conceptualising and delivering pop-ups, community-building events, and supporting sales initiatives. It is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of creativity, fashion, and social impact.
Key Responsibilities- Marketing & Brand
- Develop, manage, and execute VWD’s marketing strategy across social media, email, website, and strategic partnerships.
- Work with the Head of Product to execute campaigns that highlight product, craft, and heritage.
- Produce and manage visual and written content: photography briefs, short-form video, brand copy, and campaign messaging.
- Lead email marketing strategy: newsletters, automated flows, and promotional campaigns.
- Define and maintain a strong fashion-forward brand voice, tone, and visual identity.
- Analyse engagement and campaign performance to optimise reach, growth, and conversion.
- Conceptualise & assist in planning immersive pop-ups, fashion activations, and community events that showcase VWD collections.
- Design event themes, storytelling elements, and customer experiences in line with brand aesthetics.
- Sales Support (Assisting CEO)
- Assist the CEO in developing and executing sales strategies for online, wholesale, and event channels.
- Support onboarding of boutiques, retailers, and ethical fashion stockists.
- Support e-commerce updates, product descriptions, and seasonal promotions.
- Maintain relationships with stockists, partners, and collaborators.
- Track and report on sales performance to inform demand planning and collection development.
- Operational & Strategic
- Support product launch planning and communications with Cambodian artisan partners.
- Assist in creating fashion-focused marketing assets: lookbooks, pitch decks, and wholesale packs.
- Contribute to merchandising strategy, collection pricing, and retail planning.
- Support impact storytelling for fundraising, grants, and strategic partnerships.
- Essential
- 3–5 years experience in fashion marketing, brand management, or social media strategy (fashion, lifestyle, or ethical fashion preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to grow and engage online communities, with fashion-focused content.
- Strong content creation skills: copywriting, brand storytelling, and visual direction.
- Highly organised, with experience managing multiple projects and campaigns simultaneously.
- Comfortable working in a start-up/social enterprise environment.
- Passion for ethical production, sustainability, women’s empowerment, and artisan craft.
- Desirable
- Experience in sales, retail partnerships, or e-commerce (Shopify a plus).
- Proven track record in pop-ups, fashion events, market stalls, or brand activations.
- Basic graphic design and content editing (Canva/Adobe).
- Knowledge of ethical fashion landscape and conscious consumer behaviour.
- Awareness of international development dynamics and experience working in socially-impactful contexts.
- Creative, proactive, and self-directed, capable of owning projects from concept to execution.
- Strong storyteller with a sophisticated eye for fashion aesthetics and brand cohesion.
- Awareness of cultural sensitivities and a passion for empowering our Cambodian artisan community by representing their craft with dignity, authenticity, and respect.
