Position Summary / Job Goals:
You will support the delivery of the early childhood curriculum by assisting in the planning and implementation of engaging and effective learning experiences. You will contribute to the academic, social, and emotional development of students, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment. You will apply a range of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners and work collaboratively with colleagues across the Lower School to promote high-quality teaching and learning. In line with our vision to create a generation of resilient and creative global citizens, you will support students in developing strong foundational understanding and assist in maintaining accurate and meaningful records of their progress.

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Training in effective instructional methods preferred

Experience / Knowledge:
- At least one year of experience working with children
- Demonstrates understanding of early childhood development and learning practices
- Strong cross-cultural, interpersonal, and communication skills to engage effectively with a diverse community
- Ability to support student progress through observation, feedback, and record-keeping
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Learning and Teaching:
- Support the planning and delivery of the daily instructional program under the direction of the Lead Teacher
- Work with individual students, small groups, and whole-class settings to support learning
- Assist in monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate student records
- Support the social, emotional, and cognitive development of students
- Supervise the classroom in the absence of the Lead Teacher
- Supervise students in non-classroom settings, including playground and transitions
Planning and Preparation:
- Assist the Lead Teacher in preparing and delivering lessons that build knowledge and skills in a structured and progressive manner
- Support the preparation of instructional materials, learning centers, and classroom displays
Learning Environment and Operations:
- Assist in creating and maintaining a positive, organized, and engaging learning environment
- Prepare materials and resources required for lessons and activities
- Support general classroom organization and housekeeping responsibilities
Collaboration and Professional Practice:
- Maintain professional and respectful working relationships with colleagues
- Treat all students with dignity, respect, and care
- Attend required staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities
- Contribute to a collaborative team culture where all members feel supported and valued
- Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and staff
