The Communications Manager leads and executes The Village School's internal and external communications strategy to ensure consistent, compelling, and mission-aligned messaging across all platforms. This role oversees internal communications, school-wide newsletters, website management, event communications, and social media account management.

The Communications Manager works in close collaboration with the Marketing Manager to align messaging with broader marketing initiatives, enrollment strategies, and brand positioning, while maintaining a strong focus on community engagement and storytelling for current families, faculty, staff, and prospective families.

Qualifications / Training:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in communications, public relations, or related field
  • Experience managing websites and content management systems
  • Strong writing, editing, and content development skills
  • Demonstrated expertise in internal communications strategy and stakeholder messaging
  • Experience overseeing website content strategy, organization, updates, and optimization
  • Strong understanding of social media strategy, engagement analytics, and content planning
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and enrollment communications workflows
  • Ability to align communications efforts with institutional marketing objectives
  • Understanding of brand governance and consistency across platforms
  • Experience working with external vendors (photography, videography, print, digital services)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and consistency

Works in close collaboration with the Marketing Manager, Head of School, Division Principals, Admissions Team, and Nord Anglia Central Services.

Internal Communications:
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive internal communications strategy for faculty, staff, and families
  • Produce and distribute regular school-wide newsletters
  • Draft key leadership communications on behalf of school administration
Website Management:
  • Serve as primary manager of the school website
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and engaging content
  • Coordinate updates across academic divisions, admissions, athletics, boarding, and events
  • Monitor website performance and recommend improvements for user experience and engagement
  • Develop and manage the school's social media content calendar
  • Create and publish engaging, mission-aligned content
Event Communication:
  • Lead communications strategy for major school events (Open House, Career Fair, community events, etc.)
  • Coordinate cohesive branding and messaging across platforms
  • Partner with the Marketing Manager to ensure alignment between communications and broader marketing strategies
