There is nothing quite like the buzz of opening a brand new hotel.

Everything is immaculate, fresh, and completely untouched.

We are opening Village Hotel Sheffield, and we need a phenomenal Pub & Grill Assistant Manager to come in and act as the operational powerhouse of our busiest food and beverage space.

Just to be crystal clear on timelines: we are moving fast.

Interviews are happening week commencing 16th November.

You will officially start with us in January, well before the doors open, giving you the time and space to set up your operation, train your team, and test your systems before the first pint is poured.

Your

Remit: How You Will Run It You are not inheriting a tired bar or someone else's problems.

You are building this from scratch.

You will act as the vital bridge between the Pub & Grill Manager's strategy and the team's execution on the floor, whilst also stepping up as a Duty Manager for the wider hotel.

To make this opening a massive success, here is exactly how you will need to sequence your focus:

  • First: The Pre-Opening Setup.

Starting in January, you will be on the ground getting the department commercially ready.

You will help recruit and train your team members, ensuring everyone has tasted the menu, knows exactly which drinks drive the best Gross Profit, and is ready to deliver brilliant hospitality.

  • Second: The Floor & The Standard.

You are the engine of the shift.

You will lead high-energy pre-shift briefings and translate commercial strategy into action.

You will be visibly present on the floor, coaching the team in real time, and driving the kind of exceptional service that smashes our Review Pro and Mystery Guest targets.

  • Third: The Commercial Hustle & Local Buzz.

You will aggressively protect the bottom line and drive revenue.

You will manage wage costs using tools like Tn A, keep stock replenished to exact par levels, and safely authorise voids and refunds.

Crucially, you will act as our social media champion, driving our outreach plan to secure a top 10 spot on Trip Advisor for your local area.

Previous supervisory experience in a busy pub or restaurant is essential, but your attitude and energy matter just as much to us.

If you have the commercial grit to open a new hotel and the emotional intelligence to build a brilliant, happy team, we will give you the total autonomy to step up and make this role your own.

Gym

Membership: 2 x complimentary gym memberships at your home hotel.

  • Hotel Stays: Hotel rooms from 20 across our 35 hotels.
  • Food & Drink: 50% off food and drink for you and up to 5 guests, plus 75% off Sunday dinner for up to 6 people.
  • Friends & Family: 2 friends or family members get 25% off F&B, even when you are not there.
  • Retail & Lifestyle: Hundreds of brand discounts via the Village app.
  • Support: 24/7 Mental Health support via our Employee Assistance Programme.
