Your Shift at a Glance

As our Reception Host, you are the absolute face of Village. Because our guests use self-check-in terminals, you are not trapped behind a desk shuffling paper. You are out on the floor, working the room, fixing problems before they happen, and ensuring every single guest gets a vibrant, human welcome and a brilliant farewell.

Why Village?

At Village, we do hospitality a little differently. We are all about personality, genuine connections, and creating lively spaces for our guests to work, eat, relax, and play. That is why we back our teams to be themselves, take ownership, learn new skills, and grow their careers.

Previous hotel experience is great, but your attitude and energy matter much more to us. If you are approachable, possess a larger than life personality, and genuinely love chatting to people, we will give you all the support, training, and opportunities you need. Because it really does take a Village.

How the Village Thrives

  • We Can & We Do: We show up to make a genuine difference and do fantastic work every day, with purpose.
  • We Will: Treat each other with respect and dignity. No ego, no drama. We try our best and look out for each other.
  • We Care: We care about our impact on guests, the community, and each other.

Your Shift: What You Will Actually Be Doing

We can teach you the booking system. We cannot teach you how to make a guest smile. We trust you to handle:

  • The Welcome: Owning the lobby. You will act as the ultimate host, confidently guiding guests to the self-check-in terminals and stepping in with a warm, friendly face when they need a hand or the technology gets overwhelming.
  • The Problem Solving: Turning complaints into wins. You will deal with issues politely and positively on the spot, using your emotional intelligence to diffuse tension and resolve problems there and then before they ever reach a manager.
  • The Commercial Hustle: Knowing the product. You will use your natural charm to upsell our fantastic Food & Beverage facilities, meetings, and events, ensuring guests know exactly what is happening in the hotel during their stay.
  • The Operations: Keeping the standards high. You will manage cash handling securely, keep the front of house areas immaculate by clearing away stray coffee cups, and attend briefings so you always know exactly who is in the building.

How We Succeed Together

We do not micromanage. It takes a village, so we believe in Ownership & Integrity, giving you the autonomy to own the lobby and make decisions on the fly. We Empower & Elevate our people. If you want Room to Grow, we provide excellent training and development to help you step up in your hospitality career.

Health & Wellbeing: Complimentary full leisure club membership for you and a friend (worth £1,500 annually), a monthly well-being programme, and an Employee Assistance Programme.

Hotel Stays: Discounted stays from £35 based on two sharing, plus a Holiday Purchase scheme.

Food & Drink: 50% discount on Food and Drink purchased on or off shift at any Village Hotel.

Financial & Extras: Financial wellbeing support via Wagestream, High Street discounts, an Electric car salary sacrifice scheme, and your birthday off guaranteed.

Development & Culture: Regular team events with our BIG People days, an exciting training platform with gamified learning, and excellent Reward and Recognition schemes.

Think You Have Got the Right Energy?

We are not looking for perfect CVs, we are looking for great people with a bag of personality. If you are naturally bubbly, adapt easily to different situations, and possess a genuine passion for leaving a positive lasting impression, we want to hear from you.
