The Role Outline: As our Kitchen Porter, you are the absolute backbone of the kitchen. You will keep the operation moving by managing the heavy lifting, dominating the dish pit, checking in deliveries, and ensuring the brigade has exactly what they need to survive a busy shift.

Your Shift: What You’ll Actually Be Doing

  • The Engine Room: Dominating the dish pit. You will work speedily to clean all equipment and crockery, ensuring the kitchen never grinds to a halt because a chef is waiting for a pan.
  • The Standards: Managing the mess. You will safely handle cleaning chemicals in line with COSHH regulations, control food waste correctly, and maintain the highest levels of hygiene.
  • The Backbone: Supporting the brigade. You will fetch and carry food, safely store equipment, and act as the crucial link that keeps the service flowing.
  • The Deliveries: Acting as the gatekeeper. You will check in deliveries according to standard operating procedures, validating invoices to ensure we get exactly what we paid for.
