There is nothing quite like the buzz of opening a brand new hotel. Everything is immaculate, fresh, and completely untouched. We are opening Village Hotel Sheffield, and we need a phenomenal Night Manager to come in and take total ownership of the operation when the sun goes down.
Just to be crystal clear on timelines: we are moving fast. Interviews are happening week commencing 16th November. You will officially start with us in January, well before the doors open, giving you the time and space to set up your department, train your team, and test your systems before the first guest checks in.
Your Remit: How You Will Run It
You are not just keeping the lights on. You are the senior leader in the building overnight, acting as the face of Village and driving our commercial targets while the rest of the city sleeps. To make this opening a massive success, here is exactly how you will need to sequence your focus:
- First: The Pre-Opening Setup. Starting in January, you will be on the ground testing our processes. You will get completely under the hood of our Opera system, set up robust night audit procedures, and ensure the front desk is commercially ready for launch.
- Second: Building the Night Culture. You are recruiting and coaching your own night crew. You get to set the culture immediately, ensuring they are fully engaged, genuinely guest-focused, and ready to deliver a warm, vibrant welcome to late arrivals and a brilliant send-off for early check-outs.
- Third: The Commercial Hustle. You will actively protect the bottom line and drive revenue. You will push the team to upsell Upper Deck rooms, maximise our Average Daily Value (ADV), and manage your wage costs using tools like Rota Horizon. You will also own the night audit, balancing the daily revenue and investigating any discrepancies with serious attention to detail.
Why Village? At Village, we do hospitality a little differently. We are all about personality and genuine connections. We live by a few simple commitments: We Can & We Do, We Will (no ego, no drama), and We Care. Previous experience managing a night team and running hotel audits is essential, but your attitude and energy matter just as much to us. If you have the commercial grit to open a new hotel and the emotional intelligence to build a brilliant, happy team, we will give you the total autonomy to run the night operation like your own business.
The Perks: What Is In It For You?
- Gym Membership: 2 x complimentary gym memberships at your home hotel.
- Hotel Stays: Hotel rooms from £20 across our 35 hotels.
- Food & Drink: 50% off food and drink for you and up to 5 guests, plus 75% off Sunday dinner for up to 6 people.
- Friends & Family: 2 friends or family members get 25% off F&B, even when you are not there.
- Retail & Lifestyle: Hundreds of brand discounts via the Village app.
- Support: 24/7 Mental Health support via our Employee Assistance Programme.
