There is nothing quite like the buzz of a brand new hotel. Everything is sparkly, fresh, and completely untouched. We are opening Village Hotel Sheffield, and we need a phenomenal Housekeeping Manager to come in, take the reins, and set the absolute standard from day zero.
Just to be crystal clear on timelines: we are moving fast. Interviews are happening week commencing 16th November. You will officially start with us in January, well before the doors open, giving you the time and space to build your department properly before the first guest checks in.
Your Remit: How You Will Run It
You are not inheriting someone else's problems or a tired department. You are building this from scratch. To make this opening a massive success, here is exactly how you will need to sequence your focus:
- First: The Pre-Opening Setup. Starting in January, you will be on the ground before the guests arrive. You will be snagging rooms, unboxing deliveries, setting up your linen pars, managing supplier relationships, and making sure every single inch of the hotel is commercially ready.
- Second: Building the Team. You are recruiting your own people. You will hire, train, and develop your Assistant Housekeeping Manager, Team Leaders, and the wider crew. You get to set the culture immediately, ensuring they are fully engaged, accountable, and ready to deliver outstanding hospitality.
- Third: The Commercial Delivery. Once the doors open, it is all about protecting the bottom line while driving absolute quality. You will manage the payroll, track labour efficiency, control costs across your materials, and execute rigorous room inspections to ensure absolute compliance with health, safety, and brand standards.
Why Village?
At Village, we do hospitality a little differently. We are all about personality and genuine connections. We live by a few simple commitments: We Can & We Do, We Will (no ego, no drama), and We Care.
Previous experience running a large, high-volume housekeeping operation is essential, but your attitude and energy matter just as much to us. If you have the commercial grit to open a new hotel and the emotional intelligence to build a brilliant, happy team, we will give you the total autonomy to run your department.
The Perks: What Is In It For You?
- Gym Membership: 2 x complimentary gym memberships at your home hotel.
- Hotel Stays: Hotel rooms from £20 across our 35 hotels.
- Food & Drink: 50% off food and drink for you and up to 5 guests, plus 75% off Sunday dinner for up to 6 people.
- Friends & Family: 2 friends or family members get 25% off F&B, even when you are not there.
- Retail & Lifestyle: Hundreds of brand discounts via the Village app.
- Support: 24/7 Mental Health support via our Employee Assistance Programme.
