Role Overview
Part of our Galley team on our River vessels, the Sous Chef ensures outstanding food quality, supports budget goals, creates guest-oriented culture to increase revenue and profitability in Viking Cruises. The Sous Chef reports to Executive Chef.
What You Will Do On Board
- Prepare and distribute daily meals for guests and crew
- Ensure compliance with food safety and cleanliness standards
- Assist with ordering food supplies within budget
- Supervise, train, and motivate galley team
- Conduct stock takes and inventory management
- Support Executive Chef in departmental meetings and onboard training programs

About You
- Culinary school graduation required, hospitality degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years experience in upscale cruise or hotel industry, 1 year in similar position
- Fluent in English with excellent oral communication skills
- Maintains confidentiality and impeccable hygiene standards
- Flexible, team player, guest-focused with a positive and professional demeanor
