Role Overview
Part of our Galley team on our River vessels, the Executive Chef is managing the Galley Department to ensure high-quality food service and maintaining an efficient administration system while creating a guest-oriented service culture to increase revenue and profitability, and providing excellent guest service by supervising and coaching the galley team. The Executive Chef reports to Hotel Manager and Corporate Chef.
What You Will Do On Board
- Managing the entire galley operation, including meal production and distribution for guests and crew, in accordance with company standards and recipes.
- Organizing and executing F&B related ship functions and special events.
- Ensuring food safety and cleanliness in the galley and production areas at all times, in accordance with Viking standards and procedures.
- Ordering food supplies within budget and production planning, in cooperation with the Maitre and Hotel Manager, while maintaining food cost budget.
- Supervising, motivating, and training the multi-national galley crew, conducting performance evaluations and departmental meetings.

About You
- Graduation from a culinary school required, additional degree with hospitality focus is an advantage.
- Minimum of 4 years previous experience required in an upscale cruise line or hotel of comparable size in a similar position.
- Fluency in English.
- Must maintain confidentiality, be discrete, and have impeccable hygiene standards.
- Must be flexible, team-oriented, positive, and professional with the ability to stand for long periods and handle stress.
- Accounting and administration skills.
