Role overview As an IT Systems Engineer, you will own and maintain VIKASO’s IT infrastructure, ensuring secure, reliable systems that support engineering and business operations. You will manage servers, networks, and cloud environments, enforce cybersecurity standards, and provide hands-on support for tools critical to robotics development. Additionally, you will drive AI adoption securely, leveraging Microsoft 365 Copilot as the central AI platform to connect all applications and services, enabling advanced analytics through Power BI and improving efficiency across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

  • Infrastructure & systems management: Implement, maintain, and optimise servers, networks, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure). Manage Windows/Linux environments and ensure high availability of core services. Administer Microsoft 365, Atlassian tools, OnShape, and other engineering platforms.
  • Cybersecurity & compliance: Apply cybersecurity best practices; manage firewalls, VPNs, backups, and access control. Ensure compliance with GDPR and internal IT standards. Monitor system health and security alerts; respond to incidents promptly. Deploy and manage Microsoft 365 Copilot as the central AI platform for VIKASO. Connect all enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, CAD/PLM, project management tools) to Copilot for seamless workflows. Enable Power BI dashboards integrated with Copilot for real-time insights and decision support. Leverage APIs to integrate applications and automate data exchange between systems. Develop and maintain secure API connections to enable interoperability and automation. Identify opportunities to use AI and API-driven workflows for process automation, predictive maintenance, and efficiency improvements. Ensure secure AI usage by enforcing governance, data privacy, and ethical AI practices.
  • User & application support: Provide technical support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues. Maintain license management and performance for CAD and engineering tools. Support integration between ERP, CRM, and project management systems (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Xero, HubSpot).
  • Data & process management: Ensure secure storage and version control for engineering files and documentation. Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies. Document IT processes and maintain configuration records. Identify opportunities to automate workflows and improve IT efficiency. Liaise with external vendors and service providers for upgrades and troubleshooting.

What we expect (requirements)

  • Degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years in IT systems administration or infrastructure engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux administration, networking, and cybersecurity.
  • Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure) and virtualisation.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and collaboration tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware/software issues and manage user support.
  • Understanding of GDPR and data security principles.
  • Awareness of AI platforms and integration strategies (Copilot experience preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of APIs and integration concepts.

Nice to have (preferred)

  • Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Python) for automation.
  • Knowledge of CAD/PLM systems and engineering workflows.
  • Exposure to DevOps tools (Docker, CI/CD pipelines).
  • Familiarity with robotics or manufacturing IT environments.

  • Stable and secure IT infrastructure with zero major downtime.
  • Documented IT standards and compliance processes in place.
  • Successful deployment of Copilot and Power BI integration across core applications.
  • Positive feedback from engineering teams on system reliability and AI-enabled efficiency.
  • Implementation of several API-driven automation or AI insight projects.
