Vigilant Security have an exciting opportunity available for an external patrol officer who will be an ambassador to represent Vigilant. This role functions as a part of the physical security provision at a location comprised of three distinct buildings, all connected by a feature landscaped public realm with stunning views in the heart of Victoria.

- Location: London (SW1W)
- Pay Rate: £14.80 per hour
- Hours: Average 56 hours per week
- Shifts: 3 Days, 3 Nights, 3 Off
Job Role / Requirements:
- SIA Licence required
- Security Experience / Customer Service is required - ideally in an estate or public space area
- Physically fit to complete patrols externally and able to stand/walk for extended periods when asked in all weathers
- Excellent levels of customer service & communication at all times
- Must have good command of English Language
- Reliable, confident and committed
- Flexible in the approach to daily duties and additional events when held on site
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Have a calm personality capable of controlling difficult situations
- This position involves external patrolling throughout the shift so you must be able to stand/walk for extended periods
- Be confident you are able to undertake 100% of all specific duties
- Be able to provide all the documentation and vetting information requested
- First Aid qualification & CCTV Licence is a bonus
Duties:
- Able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team and have a proactive and ever-evolving approach towards their duties
- Able to achieve high standards in a fast-paced customer focused environment and to have an attitude that strives for continuous improvement
- Be highly visible at all times on the colonnade and be knowledgeable and give assistance to tenants and public alike
- Have the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with the customer and all other service providers
- Able to adapt to new duties added to the assignment as the contract evolves
- Awareness of protests both planned and unplanned
- To be vigilant and observant of visitors and occupiers ensuring no baggage is left unattended and applicable signage is placed correctly
- Report any patrol observations and or defects to the Security Manager as well as documenting it appropriately
- To prevent unauthorised personnel from entering the premises
- To conduct a thorough check of all identified vulnerable points as well as ensuring all exits are secure and no risks are present or obstruct
- To check for suspicious characters and report all suspicious behaviours back to the team as well as the Security Manager
- To act as an ambassador ensuring that their business is represented accordingly
- To ensure that a full and thorough handover is conducted
- Ensure external areas have been gritted when necessary
- Ability to adapt into other positions within the security team as and when operationally necessary
