Vigilant Security has an exciting opportunity for an external patrol officer who will be an ambassador to represent the company. This role functions as part of the physical security provision at a location comprising three distinct buildings, all connected by a landscaped public realm with stunning views in the heart of Victoria. You will be responsible for providing meet & greet and high-quality security protection to staff, premises and assets.
Position: External Patrol Officer
Location: London (SW1W)
Pay Rate: £13.85 per hour
Hours: Average 56 hours per week
Shifts: 3 Days, 3 Nights, 3 Off
Job Role / Requirements:
- SIA Licence required
- Security experience / customer service required – ideally in an estate or public space area
- Physically fit to complete external patrols; able to stand/walk for extended periods in all weathers
- Excellent levels of customer service & communication at all times
- Good command of the English language
- Reliable, confident and committed
- Flexible approach to daily duties and additional events when held on site
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Calm personality capable of controlling difficult situations
- Must be able to undertake 100% of all specific duties
- Provide all documentation and vetting information requested
- First Aid qualification & CCTV Licence is a bonus
Duties:
- Work on own initiative as well as part of a team with a proactive and evolving approach to duties
- Achieve high standards in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and demonstrate a continuous improvement attitude
- Be highly visible at all times on the colonnade, be knowledgeable and assist tenants and the public alike
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with customers and all other service providers
- Adapt to new duties added to the assignment as the contract evolves
- Maintain awareness of protests, both planned and unplanned
- Be vigilant and observant of visitors and occupiers, ensuring no baggage is left unattended and signage is placed correctly
- Report patrol observations and defects to the Security Manager, documenting them appropriately
- Prevent unauthorised personnel from entering the premises
- Conduct a thorough check of all identified vulnerable points, ensuring all exits are secure and risk-free
- Check for suspicious characters and report all suspicious behaviours back to the team and the Security Manager
- Act as an ambassador, ensuring the business is represented accordingly
- Ensure a full and thorough handover is conducted
- Ensure external areas have been gritted when necessary
- Adapt into other positions within the security team as operationally necessary
