Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Security Officer role based in London, The Security Officer will be responsible for monitoring premises, controlling access, and ensuring the safety and security of clients, staff, and visitors. Daily tasks include patrolling designated areas, checking doors, windows, and gates, and promptly reporting any suspicious activity or security incidents. The role also involves managing visitor and contractor access, verifying identification, and maintaining accurate incident and shift reports. The Security Officer will work closely with site management, follow established procedures and emergency protocols, and support the implementation of company security policies and standards.
Important: Due to the nature of the service, the site is a female-only residential environment and associated privacy and safeguarding requirements, this role may be subject to a female Occupational Requirement in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
Qualifications
- Possess strong observation, situational awareness, and risk assessment skills to identify and respond to potential security threats.
- Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, staff, and visitors in a professional manner.
- Maintain good record-keeping and reporting skills, including clear written documentation of incidents and daily activities.
- Exhibit sound judgment, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Hold a valid security license or equivalent qualification recognized in Ireland, with evidence of vetting and eligibility to work.
- Have prior experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a related field; experience in corporate or commercial environments is an advantage.
- Be physically able to perform patrolling and other on-site duties, and willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Demonstrate basic IT literacy for using electronic security systems, access control tools, and incident reporting software.
- Show commitment to confidentiality, ethical conduct, and compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
