Roles & Responsibilities:
- Benefits Administration (Health and Life Insurance): Manages the daily operations of all group insurance plans, including health insurance. Conducts orientation for all new hires and clearly communicates all features of the respective plans including coverage options. Ensures eligible employees are enrolled in all group insurance plans. Sends health plan enrollment form to the broker at least two weeks prior to completion of each employee’s probation. Serves as a point of contact for employees experiencing issues with the insurance provider to resolve claims and coverage disputes. Ensures health cards are distributed to employees within 5 days of receipt from the insurance broker/insurance company. Reviews group insurance invoices and completes reconciliations monthly to ensure accuracy. Provides updates on insurance products and services.
- Employee Relations: Partners with the HRD Head and departmental managers to monitor staff morale by providing counseling and staff relations services to foster a harmonious working environment. Monitors and approves leaves (unpaid sick, leave of absence, maternity, bereavement, and jury duty) for eligible employees. Provides leadership, coaching, and guidance to supervisors and employees regarding laws, regulations, policies and procedures related to employee relations matters. Conducts investigations (both formal and informal) and inquiries, provides consultations and guidance, and recommends outcomes to resolve employee relations issues, focusing on maintaining a positive employee experience. Schedules disciplinary hearings and ensures that invitation and outcome letters are sent out in a timely manner. Chairs disciplinary hearings and presents the panel’s decision for approval. Executes the panel’s decision with respect to disciplinary hearings after receiving the required approvals. Acknowledges and schedules employee counseling referrals within 24 hours and updates the tracker.
