Role Description
An opportunity has arisen to join Vienna Kang Advocates in a key finance role supporting the continued growth and operational excellence of the business. We are seeking a highly adept, capable and experienced Bookkeeper to take responsibility for core financial processes within a regulated legal environment. Responsibilities include accounting software management, recording journal entries, and assisting in financial reporting and compliance. The successful candidate will ensure that the firm’s financial data is accurate and easily accessible for operational and regulatory purposes.
The Opportunity
You will play a central role in maintaining the integrity of the firm’s financial records, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and reliability. Working alongside senior colleagues, you will contribute directly to the strength and efficiency of the finance function. This is not a high-volume processing role — it requires sound judgement, attention to detail, and a methodical, professional approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining accurate purchase and sales ledgers
- Performing bank reconciliations and financial postings
- Processing invoices and payments with precision
- Supporting month-end processes and financial reporting
- Maintaining records using Xero
- Supporting compliance with SRA Accounts Rules (training provided)
Candidate Profile
- A formally qualified bookkeeping or accountancy professional (e.g. AAT, ICB or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in a similar role
- A highly organised, detail-driven, and disciplined approach
- Strong familiarity with accounting systems (experience with Xero preferred)
- Professional, reliable, and capable of working with discretion
Additional Experience (Advantageous)
- Exposure to Solicitors Accounts Rules
- Experience within a legal or regulated environment
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Financial Statements preparation and management
- Strong Bookkeeping and Journal Entries (Accounting) skills
- Experience with Accounting Software and general finance tasks
- Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle sensitive financial data responsibly
- Knowledge of legal industry financial processes is a plus
- Associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field is preferred
