We’re looking for a hands‑on finance professional to own our day‑to‑day numbers and bring clarity to how the business is performing.
Employment Type: Full‑time (Permanent)
Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm (flexible hours are fine, as long as it’s communicated and consistent)
Location: Remote (UK‑based only)
Start Date: Immediate
Review Period: 3‑month trial phase, with a formal salary review at 12 months based on performance and company growth.
Base Salary: £32,000 – £40,000 per year (depending on experience)
Profit‑sharing bonus (team pool): Eligible after your first full year. Any profit above our net profit target is shared across the team.
Pension: 5% employee contribution, 3% employer contribution (rising to 5% after 2 years)

Responsibilities:
- Finance Ownership & Operations: Own the accuracy of day‑to‑day finance in FreeAgent, ensure invoices are raised correctly and on time, track payments and manage accounts receivable, reconcile expenses, subcontractor costs, and supplier payments, ensure revenue and costs are recorded in the correct accounting periods.
- Management Reporting & Clarity: Produce monthly management accounts, explain month‑to‑month changes in revenue, costs, and profit in plain English, break down subcontractor and delivery costs to help distinguish growth, flexibility, and inefficiency, flag risks, inconsistencies, or trends early.
- Process & Structure: Improve and document finance processes as the business grows, act as the internal finance owner and main point of contact for external accountants, help move the business from “rough understanding” to clear, reliable financial insight.
About You:
- Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and management accounts.
- Experience producing or supporting internal financial reporting.
- Comfortable working in a growing business where processes are still evolving.
- Able to explain numbers clearly to non‑finance stakeholders.
- Organised, pragmatic, and confident taking ownership.
