Reporting to the Northern Europe Finance Director, the Credit Controller is responsible for but not limited to the following responsibilities:
- Cash collection – Proactively contact customers via phone and email to chase for overdue payments. Establishing good customer relationships is key to the role.
- Credit assessment – Assess credit worthiness of new customers and review existing customers to minimize financial risk.
- Account management – Set up new customer accounts and maintain accurate customer records.
- Cash flow management – Assist in setting cash collection forecasts on a monthly basis.
- Debt recovery – Take appropriate action for delinquent accounts (e.g., placing customers on hold, applying interest and debt recovery fees, initiating legal proceedings if required).
- Dispute resolution – Liaise with other departments to resolve invoice and account queries.
- Reporting – Prepare and distribute daily cash collection reports and prepare month-end reconciliations.
Essential requirements
- At least 2 years in a Credit Control or similar role.
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics/Navision and Trust-IT is preferable, though not essential as training will be provided.
- Attention to detail is essential.
- Excellent communication skills.
