Reporting to the Field Service Manager, the Field Service Engineer is responsible for installing, maintaining, and servicing Videojet equipment at customer sites across the North of the UK. This customer-facing role involves troubleshooting technical issues, installing new equipment, and supporting customers to ensure production lines operate efficiently. The position requires frequent travel across the territory with an average of 1–2 hours each way, and occasional overnight stays may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Installing and commissioning Videojet equipment at customer sites.
- Performing maintenance, servicing, and troubleshooting on installed equipment.
- Supporting product demonstrations and trials alongside the sales team.
- Building strong customer relationships through excellent service and technical support.
- Identifying improvement opportunities or service needs during customer visits.
- Managing service cases from diagnosis through resolution with a strong sense of ownership.
Essential Requirements
- Experience in field service or technical service roles within an electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical engineering environment.
- Strong electromechanical troubleshooting skills in industrial or production environments.
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the assigned territory.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple service tasks and customer needs.
- Experience with industrial coding and marking technologies (CIJ, laser coding, labeling, or similar systems) would be advantageous but is not essential.
