Role Summary
Within the new Procurement organisation structure, designed to align Global Category Strategy with strong Regional Strategy and Execution, the Senior Buyer (Europe) is responsible for development and implementation of our Supplier Strategies at regional level, aligned with the Global Category Strategy and managing the day-to-day supplier base performance in Europe. The role ensures Supplier performance and effective execution of aligned sourcing strategies, while managing supplier performance and delivery against our key Regional KPIs of Quality, Cost, Innovation, Delivery and Management (QCIDM). The Senior Buyer (Europe) will manage their Regional Supplier Base, building and maintaining a strong, efficient, performance-driven Supplier Base aligned with both strategic and operational business requirements.
Work Location
Bury St Edmunds/Hybrid – 3 days a week (after initial training period) in the office at Bury St. Edmunds.
Your day-to-day might include
- Strategy Execution & Supplier Management
- Deliver Regional Targets, measures and KPI’s in line with the allocated Categories for the role.
- Execute the jointly agreed Regional/Global Category Strategies at regional level, ensuring full alignment of direction, both Globally and locally against our business needs.
- Manage local sourcing activities (RFQ/RFP), negotiations, and contract implementation in line with the joint Global/Regional agreed guidelines.
- Oversee day-to-day supplier performance in accordance with QCIDM KPIs.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support proactive Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), fostering collaborative and value-driven supplier partnerships.
- Cost & Performance Management
- Identify and deliver cost-saving and value engineering opportunities jointly aligned with the Global team.
- Analyse spend data, market trends, and supply risks at regional level.
- Support the achievement of savings targets, defined by the Procurement Director Europe and aligned to the overall Global Procurement requirements.
- Contribute to the continuous optimisation of the regional Supplier Base.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Operations, Engineering and Finance teams to ensure alignment between procurement Strategy/execution and operational requirements.
- Act as the regional interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Align and Partner with the wider organisation on innovation initiatives in line with the global Procurement strategies.
- Compliance & Sustainability
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
- Ensure our Supplier Base is aligned and adhere to our sustainable and responsible sourcing practices.
- Align to our ESG objectives by integrating environmental and social considerations into supplier selection and performance management goals and targets.
- Process & Tools
- Utilise and maintain procurement systems and tools (ERP, e-sourcing platforms, spend analytics).
- Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement processes and best practices at regional level.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of supplier and contract data within company systems.

What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Significant experience in procurement, category management, or strategic sourcing in an international environment.
- Proven track record of delivering cost savings, value creation, and supplier innovation.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
- Knowledge of Supplier Performance Management principles and KPI-driven environments (QCIDM).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience working in cross-functional and multicultural teams.
- Results-oriented mindset with strong prioritization and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement tools and systems (e.g., e-sourcing platforms, spend analytics).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including data analysis, pivot tables, formulas, and reporting) and strong knowledge of the full Microsoft Office 365 suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, SharePoint).
- Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
