Are you a passionate History Teacher who can bring the past to life and inspire pupils to think critically about the world around them? Vida Education is working closely with a number of excellent secondary schools across Lancashire and the North West who are seeking dedicated History specialists for long-term and upcoming September roles.
What the role involves:
- Delivering engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4, covering key historical periods and themes
- Bringing history to life through storytelling, debate, enquiry and source analysis
- Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
- Assessing progress, identifying gaps and adapting teaching to support all learners
- Encouraging pupils to think critically, question evidence and form balanced arguments
- Contributing to the wider humanities department and school community
What skills and qualities we’re looking for:
- Strong subject knowledge across British, European and World History
- Ability to make complex historical events accessible and engaging
- Confident classroom management and behaviour-support strategies
- Creativity in lesson planning, including use of sources, artefacts and discussion
- Excellent communication and the ability to inspire curiosity
- Strong organisational skills and a reflective teaching approach
- QTS or relevant teaching qualification (ECTs welcome)
