School Finance Officer – Finance 6 Experience Essential Location: Preston Start Date: ASAP Contract: Temporary, with potential to become permanent Hours: Flexible – to be discussed Salary: £145.73 – £165.29 per day (based on estimated term-time-only salary) Vida Education are currently recruiting for an experienced School Finance Officer to join a school in Lancashire. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced school finance professional looking for a position offering flexible working hours and the potential to become permanent . The successful candidate must have previous experience using Finance 6 within a school setting, including making payments and completing bank reconciliations directly from a school's own bank accounts. We are looking for someone who can confidently manage these responsibilities with minimal supervision. THE ROLE Process and manage payments directly from the school's own bank accounts. Complete bank reconciliations, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up to date. Use Finance 6 to process and maintain financial transactions. Process purchase orders, supplier invoices and payments. Monitor income and expenditure, ensuring accurate financial reporting. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial transactions. Support the school's day-to-day financial operations. Maintain accurate financial records in line with school procedures. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE Previous experience using Finance 6 within a school is essential. Must have experience making payments and completing reconciliations from a school's own bank accounts. Previous experience working in a school finance role. Strong understanding of school financial procedures and processes. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Ability to work independently and manage financial responsibilities confidently. Good communication and IT skills.
