Role Overview: We are looking for a highly capable and commercially astute Head of CEO Office to work closely with our CEO in a pivotal, high-impact role. This role will act as the central coordination point for executive activity, ensuring the CEO Office operates effectively and that strategic priorities are translated into clear action across the Bank. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will serve as a trusted advisor, enabling high-quality decision-making through exceptional analysis, communication and executive insight. This is a hybrid role, potentially based from home depending on location, but with regular travel to London and Newcastle. You will bring strong financial acumen, ideally from a financial services background, with the ability to interpret complex data, develop executive materials such as Board packs, ALCO papers and business performance scorecards, and distil this into concise and impactful insight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the CEO in delivering strategic, operational and governance priorities across the Bank
  • Manage and coordinate the effective operation of the CEO Office
  • Produce high-quality Board papers, ExCo materials, ALCO packs and executive briefings
  • Translate complex financial, operational and strategic data into clear, actionable insight
  • Support strategic planning, business performance reviews and executive decision-making
  • Develop and maintain business scorecards and performance reporting
  • Track delivery of strategic initiatives and ensure strong organisational follow-through
  • Coordinate Executive Committee activity and enhance governance effectiveness
  • Challenge and continuously improve the quality, clarity and impact of executive materials
  • Build strong, credible relationships with senior stakeholders and external partners
  • Support CEO preparation for Board, investor and regulatory engagement

Requirements:

  • Experience within financial services (banking, lending or regulated environment)
  • Background in consulting, strategy, executive office or business management
  • Proven experience producing Board-level and executive materials
  • Strong ability to interpret financial data, synthesise insight and influence decision-making
  • Experience creating ALCO packs, performance scorecards or financial reporting
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel capability
  • Exceptional written and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complexity
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and executive presence
  • High levels of organisation, attention to detail and delivery discipline
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, senior executive environment

Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred or Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or a related numerate discipline
