Role Overview: This role offers a unique entry role into Treasury Operations within a dynamic Treasury function. The key focus of the role will be supporting Treasury Operations in all day‑to‑day deliverables and project work. Alongside this, there is opportunity to develop a foundational understanding of funding, liquidity management, risk controls, and financial instruments including derivatives and fixed income securities. A key aspect of this role will be supporting across the Finance and Treasury team in data enhancements, process improvements and utilisation of AI technology. The role is designed for a motivated individual looking to explore a career in Treasury, Finance, or Banking. On‑the‑job training and mentorship will be provided throughout.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day‑to‑day management of both the mortgage funding process and retail savings
- Supporting all back‑office aspects of Treasury transactions including bookings, settlements and investigations
- Supporting all collateral management daily activities and monitoring market value monitoring
- Daily cash management working with Front Office
- Maintenance of the Treasury Management System including accurate data, report building and system testing and development
- Regular assessment and development of Treasury’s procedures to ensure they are aligned with new work streams and Treasury’s overall objectives
- Supporting the Treasury Risk team in tracking limits, mandates, and compliance metrics
- Assisting with data analysis and reporting projects in collaboration with IT and BI teams to enhance the data landscape within Treasury
- Identify process efficiency opportunities and assist in solutioning such opportunities to release resource capacity across the team
- Daily management of Treasury’s existing models and processes whilst seeking to develop these further to adapt to the changing environment
- Proactively support the adoption of AI capabilities and collaboration with others to build and embed AI knowledge within the CFO team
- Shadowing team members to gain exposure to all areas of Treasury including balance sheet management, hedging and capital markets activities
Requirements:
- Recently graduated in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related discipline
- Interested in building a career in financial services
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent attention to detail and a willingness to learn
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive and team‑oriented mindset
Desirable:
- An interest in financial markets, banking, or treasury operations
- Familiarity with financial instruments or risk concepts
- Experience with data tools or programming (e.g., Python, SQL) is a plus but not required
