We are exclusively working with a UK-based single family office to appoint a Senior Trust or Trust Administrator as part of the continued development of its internal trust and estate function. This is a broad and hands-on role within a high-quality, multi-generational family office environment, offering exposure to trust administration, taxation and accounting across a portfolio of private family structures. Depending on experience, the successful candidate will take ownership of more complex structures and play a key role in ensuring compliance, reporting accuracy and the ongoing development of the trust function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day administration of a portfolio of trusts and estates
  • Take ownership of trust structures, with increasing responsibility for more complex entities (level dependent)
  • Prepare trust accounts and support or review income and inheritance tax returns
  • Calculate CGT and IHT liabilities, including 10-year and exit charges (senior level)
  • Manage or support HMRC submissions and ensure ongoing compliance with UK tax regulations
  • Support distributions to beneficiaries, income planning and trust cashflows
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation and correspondence
  • Liaise with advisers including accountants, lawyers and investment managers
  • Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders (more senior hires)
  • Support wider structuring work and ongoing family office initiatives
  • Contribute to process improvements and the development of internal capabilities

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in trust and estate administration within a fiduciary services, private client or family office environment
  • Strong understanding of UK trust structures, accounting principles and compliance requirements
  • Experience with trust taxation, including exposure to CGT and IHT (level dependent)
  • Proven ability to manage a portfolio of trusts and estates (with complexity dependent on seniority)
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on, detail-oriented and discreet environment
  • STEP qualification (or working towards) beneficial, but not essential

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established single family office, working directly with private family structures rather than a broad client base. The role offers long-term stability, strong technical exposure and clear progression, with the opportunity to take on increased ownership and play a key role in the evolution of the trust function over time.
