We are exclusively mandated by a leading international financial services organisation to appoint a senior Enterprise Risk Management professional as part of a significant growth and transformation journey. This is a senior, group-level leadership role responsible for evolving and embedding a best-in-class enterprise risk management framework, with a particular focus on operational risk and Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA). The role offers the opportunity to shape strategy, drive automation, and lead risk transformation across a multi-jurisdictional business, particularly in the context of recent acquisitions and ongoing integration activity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and ongoing enhancement of the enterprise risk management framework across the group
- Embed operational risk within the wider enterprise risk taxonomy and reporting structure
- Establish consistent governance standards across business units and legal entities
- Design, implement and continuously improve a group-wide RCSA framework
- Define methodology covering risk identification, control effectiveness, scoring and reporting
- Drive the evolution of the framework from manual processes to automated, technology-enabled solutions
- Use RCSA outputs to inform risk identification, scenario analysis and remediation planning
Transformation & Integration
- Lead the integration of risk frameworks across newly acquired businesses and jurisdictions
- Standardise risk processes across a complex, multi-jurisdictional environment
- Develop and deliver a clear roadmap for risk framework maturity and scalability
- Provide second line oversight of operational risk, including incidents, issues and escalation processes
- Deliver high-quality reporting to senior leadership, committees and subsidiary boards
- Build actionable, data-driven insights to support decision-making
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead and develop a high-performing, cross-jurisdictional risk team
- Act as a key interface with senior stakeholders, including board-level audiences
- Build strong relationships across business lines to embed a proactive risk culture
The Successful Candidate:
- 12+ years’ experience in enterprise risk management or operational risk within financial services
- Proven experience leading RCSA frameworks within complex, regulated environments
- Experience operating at group or regional level within a banking or large financial institution
- Track record of delivering risk transformation, including automation and framework development
- Knowledge of GRC systems (e.g. Resolver, AuditBoard, Workiva) is advantageous
