What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing, developing and delivering competency frameworks to support technical excellence across the value stream.
- Assessing skills and competency levels, identifying gaps and building clear, actionable development plans.
- Owning training and competency for your value stream, ensuring employees are developed in line with agreed frameworks.
- Promoting a strong 'safety‑first' culture through coaching, role‑modelling plant safety behaviours and embedding safety in all training processes.
- Driving consistency and standardisation through continuous improvement initiatives within your area.
- Leading the apprenticeship programme - from hiring and mentoring to ensuring the content and skills delivered meet business needs.
- Managing relationships and budgets with education providers and relevant government bodies.
What You’ll Bring
- Expertise in UK qualification frameworks and competency assurance.
- Strong communication and influencing skills - able to engage, coach and positively shift behaviours.
- A passion for creating effective learning environments and enabling others to develop.
- Strong IT capability, including designing digital learning materials across different platforms.
- Experience developing and delivering competency frameworks.
- Ability to interpret Training & Learning Needs Analysis and propose pragmatic solutions.
- A data‑driven mindset with the ability to present information clearly and compellingly.
Qualifications
- Essential: Minimum 5 GCSEs (including Maths and English)
- Desirable: HNC or above in Engineering; Workplace Cogent Assessor or equivalent; Level 3 Award in Adult Education & Training or equivalent.
