About The Role
We are looking for a motivated and safety-focused Assistant Shift Leader to join our manufacturing team.
Working within a hazardous manufacturing environment, you will play a key role in delivering production plans safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
As part of a shift team, you will help ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, continuous improvement and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver daily and weekly production plans in line with site requirements for safety, quality, delivery, cost and people standards.
- Operate manufacturing processes in accordance with approved operating procedures and quality requirements.
- Support the Shift Leader in managing resources and responding effectively to changing production demands.
- Act as a site incident responder during emergency situations.
- Monitor plant performance and troubleshoot issues within the scope of the role.
- Support continuous improvement activities within the manufacturing area and contribute to wider site improvement initiatives.
- Coach and support colleagues to improve team capability and performance.
- Act as a nominated Permit to Work (PTW) Issuer, ensuring compliance with safe systems of work within the production area.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety and environmental performance.
About You
- Has experience working in a manufacturing, production or process environment.
- Ideally has experience in a hazardous or safety‑critical environment.
- Is committed to following procedures and maintaining high safety standards.
- Can work effectively as part of a busy team to achieve production targets.
- Has strong problem‑solving skills and can respond effectively to operational issues.
- Is comfortable working in a physically demanding role, including lifting, climbing stairs and working in confined spaces.
- Is willing and able to work a 24/7 shift pattern.
