As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design and development of bespoke electrical systems for our advanced UV LED and IR products. You’ll be responsible for producing detailed electrical schematics, layout drawings, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards, while working closely with cross‑functional teams in R&D, production, and quality assurance.
About Us: We are a leading UK‑based manufacturer of innovative UV LED and Infrared (IR) systems, delivering high‑performance solutions across industrial sectors including printing, curing, and drying applications. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical systems and control panels for UV LED and IR heating equipment.
- Produce and maintain accurate CAD drawings (schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts) using software such as AutoCAD Electrical or similar.
- Select appropriate electrical components, such as fuses, relays, circuit breakers, power supplies, and connectors.
- Ensure designs meet UK and international electrical standards (e.g. BS EN, CE, RoHS, EMC).
- Collaborate with mechanical and software engineers to integrate systems effectively.
- Support the build, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical prototypes and production units.
- Maintain documentation and assist with technical files for product certification.
- Provide engineering support to production and after‑sales teams.
Requirements:
- Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in electrical design engineering, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software for electrical design (e.g. AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
- Understanding of control systems, safety circuits, and power distribution.
- Experience working with LED or IR‑based systems is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of relevant compliance and safety standards.
- Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects to deadlines.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with PLCs and basic programming (e.g. ladder logic).
- Experience with thermal or optical systems.
- Previous exposure to ISO 9001‑certified environments.
