Digital Printer – Large Format (Mimaki)

Are you a detail-driven large-format printing specialist with a passion for producing high-impact visual work? We’re looking for an experienced Digital Printer (Mimaki) to join our production team in Cramlington and help bring creative projects to life across banners, decals, posters, and more.
As a key part of our print production operation, you’ll be responsible for operating and maintaining our Mimaki printers and ensuring every job meets the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate & Monitor Equipment: Set up and run Mimaki digital printers and cutters to produce a variety of high-quality large-format prints (e.g. banners, posters, decals).
- Manage Print Jobs: Use Mimaki Job Controller or other RIP software to prepare digital files and manage output settings.
- Ensure Quality Control: Inspect all finished work for colour accuracy, resolution, and alignment to meet client specifications.
- Maintain Equipment: Conduct regular cleaning and basic maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime.
- Perform Finishing Tasks: Carry out post-print tasks such as trimming, weeding vinyl, masking, and laminating.
- Inventory Oversight: Monitor ink, media, and consumables to ensure consistent availability and proper storage.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven Experience with Mimaki, Roland, or similar large-format digital printing equipment.
- Proficiency in RIP software (e.g., Mimaki Job Controller, RasterLink) and Coreldraw.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong eye for precision, colour matching, and print alignment.
- Problem Solver: Confident in diagnosing and fixing common printer issues with minimal supervision.
- Colour Management Skills to ensure consistent output across various media.
- Organised & Deadline-Focused: Capable of managing multiple jobs while maintaining quality under pressure.
- Team Player: Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with design and production teams.
