Overview

Victorian Plumbing is seeking a passionate and detail-driven Test Engineer to join our dynamic Technology team. Be the quality champion behind the scenes, helping ensure the performance, reliability, and security of our backend systems and integrations, including RESTful APIs, microservices, data pipelines, and CI/CD workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute manual test cases for APIs, backend services, and data flows
  • Collaborate in code reviews and contribute to testable, maintainable codebases
  • Perform root-cause analysis of defects and system failures
  • Propose and implement improvements to testing processes, tools, and frameworks
  • Support performance, security, and reliability testing across backend systems

Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience testing APIs, microservices, and backend systems (Node.js, Java, Python, etc.)
  • Proficiency with tools like Postman, REST Assured, Cypress (API mode), or Playwright
  • Proven hands-on experience with SQL Server Management Studio
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and Agile development practices
  • Understanding of shift-left testing and test-driven development (TDD/BDD)
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Desirable – Boost Your Engineering Career

  • Experience with performance testing, security testing, or observability tools
  • Familiarity with data validation, integration testing, and backend test automation
