VictorianPlumbing.co.uk, the UK's leading online bathroom retailer, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Warehouse Health & Safety Assistant to join our brand new state-of-the-art site in Leyland, Lancashire. In this rewarding role, you'll be a vital cog in the machine, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our team. You'll assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining robust health and safety policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with the creation and maintenance of health and safety documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and accident/incident reports.
- Conducting regular safety inspections of the warehouse and equipment, keeping a watchful eye out for any potential hazards.
- Providing training and guidance to warehouse colleagues on health and safety matters, ensuring everyone knows the drill when it comes to safe working practices and emergency procedures.
- Investigating accidents and incidents, gathering information, and helping to develop preventative measures to keep them from happening again.
- Assisting in managing health and safety compliance, ensuring we adhere to all legal requirements and company standards.
- Supporting the implementation of health and safety initiatives and campaigns within the warehouse.
- Maintaining accurate records of health and safety data and statistics.
- Participating in health and safety meetings and committees as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- A basic understanding of health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to keep everyone informed and on the same page.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is a plus (but not a must-have!).
- Relevant health and safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate) are highly regarded, but not essential.
