Salary: 142,908.53 - 160,018.73, plus super and salary packaging

About the role

The Executive Manager Practice Leadership oversees a team of Principal Practitioners, specialist and therapeutic practice leader positions to promote and support culturally informed best practice broadly across VACCA, as well as providing guidance in relation to specific high risk and complex cases. This role supports the identification, development and implementation of best practice to continuously improve systems and practice across the organisation.

About You

  • Significant experience working across Child and Family Welfare Services and the Aboriginal sector.
  • Experience and ability to provide practice leadership across a range of social service programs with a focus on vulnerable Aboriginal children, families and adults.
  • Highly developed understanding of the theories relating to complex trauma as a consequence of abuse and neglect, of the issues involved in trans-generational trauma and the ability to translate these into practice in an organisation.
  • Demonstrate understanding of risks to children and how to strengthen safety together with families, carers and with multiple stakeholders to support individual children.
  • Senior Leadership, mentoring and management experience of a multidisciplinary team in a community service or Aboriginal organisation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the legislative, policy and practice requirements relating to Aboriginal children, families, and communities and the ability to apply case practice and decision-making.

Requirements

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services or equivalent qualifications (or willing to obtain) and extensive relevant experience OR a combination of experience, expertise and competence sufficient to perform the duties required.
  • Practice leadership across a range of social service programs with a focus on vulnerable Aboriginal children, families and adults.
  • Valid Police Check, a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence.
  • Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended).
