Main Function of the Role
We are looking for a reliable Goods In Warehouse Operative (Returns) to join our Skelmersdale team. Unlike standard picking and packing, this role is all about the “inward flow.” You’ll be the gatekeeper of our returns department, ensuring every item—from designer taps to luxury vanity units is handled with care, inspected with a keen eye, and processed with “porcelain-perfect” precision. Key Responsibilities
- Receiving and unloading inbound return shipments, checking for any “leaks” in quality or transit damage.
- Using our Warehouse Management System to log returns accurately, ensuring our data flows as smoothly as a power shower.
- Conducting thorough inspections to decide if a product is “Grade A” or if its ship has sailed, categorising items for resale or refurbishment.
- Identifying discrepancies or “murky” returns (incorrect items or missing parts) and reporting them to the management team.
- Keeping your workspace organised and hazard-free, ensuring the returns bay never gets “clogged” up.
Skills And Experience Required
- Spot a hairline fracture or a missing washer from a mile away—accuracy is vital.
- Comfortable using handheld scanners and warehouse software.
