Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager
Reports to – The Directors of VCAD
Location: London, Canary Wharf
Salary: £50,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday (On Site)
Overview:
We wish to appoint an experienced quality and compliance professional to our new post of Quality Assurance Manager – Victoria College of Art and Design (VCAD)
The creation of this role reflects VCAD’s commitment to developing excellent governance and compliance practices and our determination to deliver an outstanding student experience as we move towards gaining Office for Students registration and, ultimately, DAPS approval.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leading and Developing VCAD Quality Assurance processes and procedures
- Collaborating positively and collegiately with our partner universities.
- Lead on developing and implementing the – VCAD Quality & Standards Framework and the VCAD Governance Framework.
- Assist and advise the VCAD Directors and other VCAD colleagues in ensuring compliance with the Office for Students (OfS) Regulatory Framework. Ensuring that VCAD policies and key documents comply with relevant UK legislation, as well as the regulations and directives of the Office for Students.
- Service a range of appropriate VCAD committees including preparing agendas, collating papers, collaborating with Committee Chairs, taking and documenting formal minutes, and ensuring that follow-up actions are completed on time.
- Develop an authoritative knowledge of VCAD’s quality assurance and governance mechanisms and on that basis, provide appropriate advice to VCAD colleagues.
- Develop authoritative knowledge of national regulation and advisory bodies, including the Office for Students, Quality Assurance Agency, and the Competition and Markets Authority.
- Write coherent and easily understood guidance documents on various policy and governance themes for distribution to VCAD personnel.
- It is expected that the post-holder will be a professional and well-organised individual, capable of managing their workload, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills, and handling sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
- Manage and lead a small Quality Assurance team.
Qualifications & Experience: Essential (E) Desirable (D)
- A Bachelor’s degree or significant and equivalent work experience relevant to the role. (E)
- A good working knowledge of legislation, regulation and statutory guidance concerning Higher Education in England and the UK. (E)
- Team Leadership experience (E)
- Confidence and ability in the use of a range of appropriate software programmes and platforms (E)
- Experience in servicing meetings including writing agendas, writing papers, minute taking and managing follow-up on actions. (E)
- Experience of playing a key role in Higher Education Quality Assurance procedures such as programme validation, partnership agreements, curriculum review and OfS Application. (E)
- Strong spoken and written communication abilities, with a particular skill for presenting complex information in plain and easily understood English. (E)
- The Right to Work in the UK (E)
- Experience of working with and utilising sector-standard Student Information Systems. (D)
- Experience of working independently to strict deadlines. (D)
- Experience of writing detailed and easily understood guidance documents for colleagues. (D)
