VCAD is seeking a Student Information and Support Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be part of the team providing high-quality support to our students throughout their academic journey. The role requires an individual with excellent communication and organisational skills, who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The role holder will help students navigate academic, personal and career-related challenges, ensuring their university experience is fulfilling and successful. The role holder will be instrumental in fostering a positive, supportive environment that enables our students to excel.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personalised support to students in areas linked to student services.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for student enquiries via email, phone and in-person.
  • Ensure compliance with the university policies and procedures when responding to student needs.
  • Monitor student attendance, academic progress and behaviour, intervening, when necessary, to ensure student success.
  • Collaborate with academic and administrative staff to identify and address student concerns and provide feedback on academic progress.
  • Maintain and update student records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Provide regular and accurate reports to VCAD and our partner universities.
  • Organise and facilitate events and workshops to promote student engagement and community to enhance the student experience.
  • Support student services administrative processes.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of student information and support services and wider student services.
  • Provide support for any other associated duties as requested by the Team leader or Head of Student Experience and Outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience in student services or similar role in higher or further education, with a strong understanding of the academic and personal challenges students face.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by students in higher education, with the ability to offer tailored support.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as and when needed.
