We are seeking an experienced and highly talented Tailoring Sample Machinist to join our fast-paced London atelier. The ideal candidate is a true craftsperson with an exceptional eye for detail and a deep understanding of luxury garment construction, particularly in high‑end tailoring. You\’ll be responsible for bringing the design team\’s vision to life, working closely with pattern cutters to create first samples, showpieces, and VIP garments to the exacting standards of the Victoria Beckham brand. This role is pivotal in realising the collection’s blend of sharp construction and fluid drapery, demanding precision, creativity, and adaptability.

  • Sample Creation: Accurately and efficiently construct first‑toile and final samples for tailoring, including jackets, trousers, coats, and structured dresses.
  • Technical Excellence: Demonstrate expert‑level skills on all industrial machines (lockstitch, overlocker, etc.) as well as immaculate hand‑finishing techniques (hand‑stitching, buttonholes, finishing) required for luxury garments.
  • Fabric Handling: Confidently work with a diverse range of luxury fabrics, from structured wools, leathers, and bonded materials to delicate silks, crepes, and other fluid wovens.
  • Collaboration: Work in close partnership with the Pattern Cutters and Designers, providing constructive feedback on garment construction, finishing, and fit to achieve the desired aesthetic and quality.
  • Fit Meetings: Actively participate in fit meetings, understanding and executing complex alterations and modifications with precision and speed.
  • Show & VIP: Support the creation of runway showpieces and special VIP/red‑carpet garments, often working to tight deadlines while maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Atelier Standards: Maintain a clean and organised workspace and ensure all machinery is well‑cared for.
    Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Sample Machinist within a luxury fashion house, with a portfolio that strongly demonstrates high‑end tailoring skills.
  • Technical Skill: Master‑level construction skills, with a deep understanding of traditional tailoring techniques as well as modern and innovative construction methods.
  • Fabric Knowledge: Proven experience working with a wide variety of fabrics, understanding how to and manipulate different weights and compositions.
  • Attention to Detail: An exceptional eye for precision, quality, and the subtleties of a high‑end finish.
  • Collaborative Spirit: A positive, solutions‑oriented team player who communicates clearly and effectively with pattern cutters and designers.
  • Pace & Pressure: Highly organised and self‑motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work calmly and efficiently under pressure to meet strict collection deadlines.
