We are seeking a Learning and Development professional to join our busy Talent and Skills (T&S) team. The role involves employing the whole learning cycle to deliver a range of organisation-wide, strategic training programmes. We are looking for someone who can project manage and lead on the delivery of high quality, engaging learning and training. For example, induction, leadership and management development, personal, digital and museum specific skills. The role also involves acting as Learning and Development Advisor on a range of L&D solutions such as coaching and other options.
What will you be doing?
- Employ the learning cycle to deliver cost effective, impactful programmes.
- Deliver strategic early careers programmes such as apprenticeship and internships.
- Ensure learning and development solutions upskill employees and volunteers to deliver the V&A's strategic goals.
- Continually evaluate programme effectiveness for improvement.
- Identify, contract and manage third-party organisations to deliver programmes, including coaching and mentoring.
- Contribute to identifying and delivering operational efficiencies.
- Act as learning and development advisor across all levels of the organisation.
- Work flexibly with stakeholders to respond to the different and occasionally conflicting demands of a busy environment.
- Ensure own professional development and mandated training is current.
- Adhere to health and safety procedures, ensuring work and training environments remain safe.
- Continually develop to bring best practice, thought leadership insights and fresh approaches to learning and development programmes.

- Excellent L&D design and delivery skills: ability to design programmes that meet the needs of a diverse audience.
- Excellent project management and prioritisation skills: ability to manage projects through the learning cycle.
- Excellent interpersonal skills: passionate about customer service, ability to build strong working relationships and influence others.
- Excellent consultation and advisory skills.
- Significant technology and digital skills, e.g. Office 365, Co-pilot.
- Experience using Learning Pool’s learning management system (LMS), or similar Totara based LMS.
- Experience working as an L&D Advisor in a complex organisation, across all levels.
- Experience designing and delivering in-person, eLearning and blended programmes.
- Experience managing the performance of third-party contractors.
- Strong team player: positive and enthusiastic, respects others.
- Flexible and adaptable: acts as a change catalyst and is solution focused.
- Takes responsibility for delivering on actions.
