Do you have a creative approach to events, a strong eye for detail, and a passion for creating experiences that engage, entertain and inspire? The Membership team is looking for a Senior Membership Events Officer to play a key role in programming and delivering a vibrant range of unique experiences for Members and the wider V&A audience. You will help shape and bring to life inspiring Members' events that deepen engagement with the Museum, from talks, workshops and film screenings to online events and exhibition previews. Your work will directly support Membership retention at a time of ambitious growth, as the V&A expands its venues, reaches new audiences across the UK and internationally, and places renewed focus on creativity, inclusion and excellence in the visitor experience.
What will you be doing?
- Create a one-of-a-kind events program that members can only enjoy at the V&A.
- Offer a unique experience to V&A Members, contributing to acquisition, retention and loyalty.
- Complement the special exhibition programme and the new work the V&A does.
- Support the V&A through income raised by membership events.
- The Senior Membership Officer will work across the Membership Events programme, with primary responsibility for the programming and delivery of unique Members-only events both on site and online. This includes working with the Membership Events Manager to programme and deliver the annual festive open evening, as well as exhibition-related Members' Only online curator talks, preview days, and other out-of-hours access to exhibitions as required.
Who are we looking for?
- Exceptional Organisational Precision: Meticulous attention to detail, strong organisational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, and maintain calm under pressure.
- Creative Event Delivery: Proven experience curating a diverse programme of engaging events with a creative approach to event ideas, preferably within a membership scheme.
- Confident Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication; confidence addressing audiences, with the ability to adapt your communication style for different groups.
- Collaborative and Supportive Team Contributor: Flexible, reliable, and conscientious team player with experience working cooperatively across teams.
- Strong initiative, ability to take responsibility, work independently without supervision, and deliver tasks efficiently, including use of relevant IT systems.
- An understanding of V&A Members and Membership programme, and interest.
