We are looking for a practical and collaborative Creative Studios Practitioner to join a dynamic Learning and Engagement team at V&A East. Covering a 12 month maternity leave, this post is an opportunity for a creative practitioner with a background in art and design, to work with museum collections, spaces and experts to engage young audiences and share creative practices with diverse communities in East London.
It is an exciting and unique period to develop and deliver new creative workshops and support a wide range of projects, across two sites in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park - the recently opened V&A East Museum and V&A East Storehouse which opened in May 2025. The role will support a range of people including 16–24-year-olds, to develop skills, social connection and confidence through practical making and exploring ideas and issues.
You will deliver creative sessions that will include curriculum related workshops for schools and colleges and collaborative sessions with youth groups and communities and public social events.
Who we are looking for:
- Dynamic and engaging with exceptional skills connecting with young people and adults, facilitating collaboration, and leading activity.
- Bringing strong communication and organisational skills, alongside a positive approach to problem solving.
- A proven track record of working with creative making processes and understanding how they can support dialogue, generate new ideas, build confidence and develop agency.
- Someone ideally with a breadth of creative practices, with openness and curiosity to experiment, learn and develop new approaches.
- A collaborative sensibility - able to work with teachers, artists, curators, conservators, youth workers and others.
- Sensitivity and knowledge of inclusive creative practices.
- Curiosity about the experiences of young people and other under-represented groups.
- Experience of working in, or in contexts relatable to, cultural settings. We welcome applicants with transferable skills and do not require a conventional museum background.
