Overview
Professional Indemnity / Financial Lines Underwriter role at Victor Insurance UK. The Senior Financial Lines Underwriter will join a busy underwriting team within our Financial Lines / Professional Indemnity practice. Access to London, Cambridge, Bristol, Leeds or Witham would be beneficial for office attendance.
Responsibilities
- Directly contribute to and implement the underwriting strategy for all products, operating within the established risk appetite.
- Develop within a tight-knit, busy, knowledgeable team within a growing MGA.
- Underwrite within authority and act as a technical referral point where appropriate.
- Build strong relationships with broking and capacity partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Attend networking and insurance events as well as broker visits.
- Provide superior customer service while delivering product profitability, providing market feedback to internal stakeholders, and improving technical underwriting capabilities.
- Opportunity to deputise for the Product Head when appropriate and necessary.
Requirements
- Proven track record of professional indemnity insurance underwriting.
- Thorough understanding of the financial lines insurance market.
- Experience managing underwriting authority for professional indemnity insurance.
- Experience working in teams and delivering results.
Desired qualifications and assets
- Experience with e-trade platforms, particularly Acturis.
- Professional qualifications – Cert, Dip or ACII.
- Experience working within an MGA model.
- Established trading relationships with UK independent brokers.
