Victim Support Scotland (VSS) provides support and information to people affected by crime and campaigns for victim and witness rights. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Locality Manager. Working week will be between Monday - Sunday, 8am - 8pm. You will report directly to a Head of Service Delivery and be responsible for a team of Co-ordinators who manage groups of volunteers to deliver and evaluate support to victims and witnesses.

You will ensure that VSS's organisational objectives are implemented at a local level and have a role in business planning to ensure that all service users within your local area are aware of, and have access to, the support they need. Additionally, you will be responsible for all aspects of people management for staff in your area, ensuring that employees and volunteers are supported, knowledgeable, and capable of delivering the necessary support.

You will bring experience from a similar role and a commitment to your own professional development. As a confident and supportive leader, you will know how to motivate others, build trust, and drive performance. You will be comfortable working with data gathering, analysing, and presenting insights that help shape decisions. You believe in fairness and inclusion with the confidence to challenge discrimination, bias, or stereotyping when you see it. You have a solid understanding of the voluntary and charity sector, and be willing to work flexible hours and travel when necessary.

Victims & Witnesses First Strategy:

  • Manage a portfolio of VSS services across the locality that meets the needs of service users.
  • Work with the Head of Service Delivery to create and implement a service development and delivery plan for the locality aligned to our organisational strategy.
  • Extend the reach of VSS services by developing new ideas and approaches to support more victims and witnesses.
  • Be an ambassador for VSS in all aspects of the work.
  • Work from different locations within your locality on a daily/weekly basis.

Quality & Compliance:

  • Ensure that all VSS operations within the locality are fully embedded within our systems.
  • Implement service and practice standards to demonstrate continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, legal, and organisational requirements.

People Management & Volunteer Engagement:

  • Responsible for staff recruitment, induction, and learning and development.
  • Provide effective support and performance management to all staff and volunteers.
  • Oversee all aspects of volunteer engagement in your locality.
  • Inspire and motivate your team as VSS drives and implements change.

Finance/Resources:

  • Responsible for locality and service budgets, ensuring adherence to financial policies.
  • Maximise the potential of all available resources to ensure high-quality services.
