Job Details

This position will be responsible for managing and directing manufacturing activities to ensure a high level of product availability and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and abide by all company safety rules, regulations, and policies. Maintain safe and sanitary working conditions in accordance with company standards and state & federal laws. Conduct safety training as required.
  • Manage both MRP and Kanban requirements, distribute and maintain manufacturing orders.
  • Handle all inquiries or expedited delivery requests for assigned products, responding promptly and following through on commitments.
  • Manage component and finished goods inventory levels, monitor performance, and implement lead‑time reduction opportunities. Review planning data and Kanban levels regularly.
  • Maintain all system planning data for assigned items.
  • Assist in inventory accuracy, conduct Kanban and inventory audits, and help Production Personnel correct identified problems.
  • Work with supervisors and management to determine production priorities, overtime requirements, and capacity or component issues.
  • Help develop and maintain measurements. Continuously improve performance and material flow by identifying root causes and applying process improvement techniques.
  • Participate in and lead process improvement activities, developing and implementing solutions with manufacturing supervisors, Buyers, Engineering, Management, Customer Care, and hourly personnel.
  • Assist with process and procedure documentation, and train salaried and hourly personnel.
  • Coordinate related supporting projects as assigned.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills, Personal Attributes)

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in materials management in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts (Kanban, pull, etc.) preferred.
  • Good organizational, analytical problem‑solving, and communication skills required. Ability to interact with a wide variety of people.
  • Must be responsible and self‑motivated.
  • Willing to work extra hours as project or production needs dictate.
