Role Description
VICPros Auto Centre is looking for an experienced, motivated, and highly skilled Automotive Technician to join our growing team on a full-time, on-site basis in England, United Kingdom.
The successful candidate will carry out inspections, diagnostics, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a wide variety of vehicles while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out vehicle servicing and routine maintenance.
- Perform diagnostics using modern diagnostic equipment.
- Complete MOT preparation and repairs.
- Undertake brake, suspension, steering, and exhaust repairs.
- Carry out clutch replacements and gearbox repairs.
- Diagnose and repair engine faults.
- Fit and repair tyres, including wheel balancing and puncture repairs.
- Complete all work in line with manufacturer specifications and DVSA safety standards.
- Maintain accurate job records and communicate effectively with the service team.
- Ensure the workshop remains clean, organised, and compliant with all health and safety regulations.
- Specialist Experience Required
We are looking for someone with a vast amount of experience carrying out specialist mechanical repairs, including:
- Timing Belt replacement.
- Wet Belt replacement.
- Timing Chain replacement.
- Clutch replacement.
- Engine timing and locking procedures.
- Engine rebuilds and major mechanical repairs (desirable).
- Gearbox removal and installation.
- Advanced fault finding and diagnostics.
Candidates with proven experience completing these specialist jobs independently will be highly preferred.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, servicing, and repairs.
- Proven experience in automotive diagnostics and fault finding.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge across all makes and models.
- Extensive experience replacing Timing Belts, Wet Belts, Timing Chains, and Clutches.
- Experience with suspension, braking systems, steering, and engine repairs.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workshop environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Relevant Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds qualification, or recognised apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is preferred.
- A full UK driving licence is desirable.
