We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Policy Officer to lead the review and development of our policies and procedures, ensuring they support excellent service delivery and meet regulatory and legislative requirements. You’ll play a key role in keeping us compliant, informed, and forward‑looking—working closely with colleagues across the organisation and with external stakeholders to shape high‑quality, customer‑focused policies that make a real difference.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the annual policy and procedure review cycle, keeping everything on track and up to date.
  • Support the development of new and revised policies that reflect legislation, regulation, best practice and organisational objectives.
  • Coordinate consultation and engagement with colleagues and work with our Customer Insight and Engagement teams to coordinate consultation and engagement with customers and stakeholders.
  • Perform a quality checking role to ensure policies meet agreed standards and are clearly communicated.
  • Produce clear reports, presentations and high‑quality process maps.
  • Use customer insight, complaints learning, audits and inspections to inform policy improvement.
  • Monitor changes in legislation and social housing policy and co‑ordinate responses to consultations.

What we’re looking for:

  • A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) in a relevant area.
  • Experience in a policy development or similar administrative role.
  • Excellent written communication skills, particularly policy drafting.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Confidence in influencing and working with senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements for social housing.
  • A customer‑focused, proactive and collaborative approach.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and digital tools.

This is a full time job share role with our current Policy Officer who also works 18.5 per week.
