The Sustainability Team deliver the Vico Homes Sustainability Plan across the organisation to improve the sustainability of our communities, protect the environment and combat climate change. This role will focus on ensuring that Vico Homes are compliant with all aspects of the Heat Network Regulations for our 26 District and Communal Heating Sites.
You will work 37 hours a week on a permanent basis, working flexibly in the Vico Homes operating area based at our Head Office in Castleford. As the Project Officer - Sustainability you will be responsible for delivering and monitoring key aspects of compliance for our Heat Networks whilst also supporting our wider aims of carbon reduction and the delivery of our Sustainability Plan. You will work across the organisation to embed good energy management and improved energy efficiency of our heat networks and corporate utilities portfolio and provide energy advice to customers and colleagues.
Vico Homes are embarking upon an ambitious expansion plan to expand from 32,000 homes to 45,000 homes by 2035, so this is an exciting time to join a growing team within the organisation.
What you’ll do:
- Be part of the team to achieve and maintain compliance for our 26 district and communal heating sites.
- Undertake work to improve the energy efficiency of Vico Homes’ Heat networks and tackle fuel poverty.
- Be a first point of contact for our corporate utilities billing function and support the reduction of our utilities carbon footprint.
- Provide specialist sustainability, energy and climate change expertise to customers and teams across the organisation to embed principles and realise our corporate decarbonisation targets and ambitions.
What we’re looking for:
- A sustainability professional experienced in energy efficiency, customer engagement and data monitoring with attention to detail and an ability to understand technical data.
- A qualification at Level 3 of the Regulated Qualifications Framework or equivalent, such as A Levels, Award, Certificate or Diploma.
- Level 3 in Energy Awareness or willingness to work towards.
- A valid driving licence with daily access to a vehicle to travel throughout the Vico Homes operating area.
- Significant experience of working within a similar sustainability role.
- Excellent communication, data processing, analytical and organisational skills.
