Vickerstock are excited to be working in partnership with a fast-growing, innovative FMCG manufacturer based in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford, with the appointment of Senior NPD Technologist to join the wider NPD & Innovation team. You will be part of an energetic and passionate team, where hard work and commitment are recognised and rewarded. What your day to day will look like:

  • Develop and formulate innovative beverage and powder products for the sports nutrition and health & wellness markets.
  • Manage products through the full development lifecycle, from concept and laboratory trials to factory scale-up and commercial launch.
  • Conduct product validation, including microbiological testing, shelf-life studies, stability assessments and risk analysis.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality and Procurement teams to ensure products are robust, compliant and suitable for commercial manufacture.
  • Support factory trials, troubleshoot technical issues and drive continuous product improvements.
  • Prepare and maintain product specifications, technical documentation and development records.
  • Contribute to HACCP reviews, raw material assessments and change control activities.
  • Monitor industry trends, customer needs and regulatory developments to support product innovation.
  • Respond to technical queries and support cross-functional projects as required.
  • Maintain laboratory standards, equipment and good laboratory practices.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition or a related scientific discipline.
  • At least 3 years' experience in food, beverage or nutritional supplement product development within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience formulating beverage and/or powder products.
  • Good understanding of product validation, microbiological risk assessment and shelf-life studies.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, food safety and quality management systems.
  • Experience supporting factory trials and resolving technical manufacturing issues.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • A proactive team player who can also work independently.
