Vickerstock are exclusively partnering Thompson's Tea (Punjana Limited) - a hugely successful 4th generation family Tea business - with the appointment of a Technical Operator for their Belfast based Production facility. Their mission is to create the "Perfect Everyday Cuppa", superior in taste and flavour whilst representing great value for money; and live by their "TEA" team values of focusing on Teamwork, Excellence and Accountability.

An excellent benefits package includes:

  • £13.99 per hour
  • Discretionary Performance Bonus
  • 4 days across Monday to Friday, 5.30am - 4.30pm (42hr week)
  • Holiday entitlement - 24 days (240 hrs - 6 weeks)

A typical day as Technical Operator:

  • Operate and maintain all production equipment efficiently, including setup, changeovers, and shutdowns.
  • Ensure consistent material supply and correct machine settings throughout shifts.
  • Perform quality and CCP checks, isolating and addressing any defective products.
  • Adhere to and promote site health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues to minimize downtime and support the Engineering team with problem-solving.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying and preventing recurring issues.
  • Lead daily machine start-ups and deliver team briefs to ensure clear communication.
  • Train, mentor, and ensure competency of team members on the production line.
  • Organize staff breaks and coordinate workflow to maintain production efficiency.
  • Provide cover during staff absences and ensure readiness for the next day's production.

Your essential ingredients:

  • Minimum qualifications - 5 GCSE including English and Maths
  • Ability to demonstrate good communications skills
  • Evidence of working as part of a wider team/cross department
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Proven mechanical aptitude or basic mechanical training
  • Previous machine operating experience

And even better if you have:

  • 3+ years Machine Operating Experience
  • HACCP training
  • Evidence of training others
  • Leadership experience
