Vickerstock are working in partnership with an established red meat processing business in Lurgan to recruit a Technical Manager to lead the site's Technical and Quality Assurance functions. This is an opportunity to take ownership of food safety, quality, regulatory compliance and technical standards within a beef processing environment. What's in it for you? Manage BRCGS, Red Tractor, Bord Bia, customer and regulatory audits. Oversee HACCP, TACCP, VACCP, traceability and food defence systems. Ensure compliance with food safety legislation, DAERA/FSA requirements and animal welfare regulations. Manage microbiological, environmental, water and shelf-life sampling programmes. Investigate non-conformances, out-of-specification results and customer complaints, driving root-cause analysis and corrective actions. Maintain a visible presence on the production floor, supporting technical standards throughout daily operations. What you'll need Experience in a Technical or QA role; red meat or abattoir experience would be beneficial but is not essential. A good understanding of UK and Northern Ireland food safety legislation, DAERA/FSA requirements and BRCGS standards. Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills. Good attention to detail and computer skills. The ability to remain calm and professional in a busy production environment. Flexibility to accommodate variable daily finishing times, with a 07:00 start. Desirable Criteria (it would be great if you have these but don't worry if you don't!) A third-level qualification in Food Science, Food Safety, Food Manufacturing or a related discipline. Knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS and WATOK regulations. Previous experience within the red meat sector.
