Overview
In this role you will lead and advise on Health, Safety and Environmental performance across the business. You will support both operations and senior management to maintain compliance, improve HSE systems, and drive initiatives that boost safety, environmental performance, and wellbeing. You’ll promote a positive safety culture, conduct investigations and audits, and help sustain ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 frameworks. This is an opportunity to shape risk management and sustainability efforts in a manufacturing context.
Responsibilities
- Support development and continuous improvement of HSE strategy and management systems
- Provide expert HSE guidance to managers, supervisors and teams
- Promote safety culture through coaching, engagement and behavioural safety initiatives
- Ensure compliance with UK and NI HSE legislation
- Lead risk assessments, safe systems of work, and method statement reviews
- Conduct incident, accident and near-miss investigations with root-cause analysis
- Carry out workplace inspections, internal audits, and support external audits
- Deliver HSE training, inductions, toolbox talks and awareness programmes
- Support environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives and wellbeing programmes
- Monitor HSE performance, analyse KPI trends and prepare improvement reports
- Assist with maintaining and developing ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems
Key requirements
- Previous experience in a Health, Safety & Environmental role
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering or industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of UK and Northern Ireland HSE legislation
- Proven experience in risk assessments, audits and incident investigations
- Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to continuous improvement
